Problems can take all of the fun out of even the best A/V setups. Instead of frantically calling an installer, you can first try HD Sleuth.

HD Sleuth is AudioControl’s app for troubleshooting HDMI issues. The app actually features three sections: one deals with no audio, one for no video, and one for intermittent audio and video. Choose your problem, answer a series of questions, and you could get your answer—all without a service call.

“I have heard HDMI described as another four letter word that begins with H,” said Tom Walker, president of AudioControl. “We want to relieve some of the agony. As a USA factory making HDMI extenders, as well as home theater receivers and pre-amps, we have expertise in troubleshooting intricate installations. That expertise is captured in this Android phone app!”

AudioControl first made HD Sleuth available for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Now, the company says that the app can be had through the Android Market. Each version is available now for $3.99 per download.
