French manufacturer Devialet may not be a household name in the United States. It’s not supposed to be, though. The high-end company typically makes products for the true audiophile.
Of course, Devialet doesn’t want to scare away other audio fans. It’s probably going to be hard to do that, once people get a load of the company’s latest trio. The Devialet 240, the Devialet 170 and the Devialet 110 are all so very pretty.
Made in France, all three have a rectangular chassis and a black chrome mirror finish. Each one also comes with a funky square remote to match the respective component’s aesthetics.
Whether wall-mounted are placed on the shelf, the new Devialet audio systems can be paired with speakers, CD players, turntables, and even digital music sources. That lineup includes plenty of web radio stations and streaming options, such as Pandora, Spotify, and more.
The 240 is being marketed as an advanced version of the Devialet D-Premier. It’s also the flagship of the line. It has a Class A amp with two channels at 240 watts each, as well as a built-in DAC. Also worth noting is that the amp can be adjusted down to 50 watts or it can be configured as a 500-watt monoblock amplifier that can be daisy-chained to seven additional units.
Other features include Wi-Fi for streaming up to 24 bit/192 kHz, Devialet’s own Analog Digital Hybrid (ADH) core, a switchable mode power supply, and more. The 240 also has plenty of connection options, including Ethernet, digital S/PDIF, RCA, XLR, HDMI, USB, Toslink, an RS-232 trigger, phono and analog line connections, and a subwoofer output.
As you could guess by the product names, the Devialet 170 has the Class A amp with two channels at 170 watts each, with the 110 dropping those numbers down to 110 watts.
The Devialet 240, 170 and 110 are available now, priced at $17,495, $9,495 and $6,495, respectively.
