Anthem Makes a Statement with Amps

The Anthem Statement P2 and P5 amplifiers promise high-end performance from the heart.

The Anthem Statement P2 and P5 two-channel and five-channel amplifiers promise to recreate the powerful dynamics of today’s movie and music soundtracks.

The “power” in a power amplifier is derived from its power supply. P2 and P5 amplifiers feature dual, autonomous power supplies on each channel, allowing the amplifiers to deliver stable and continuous power, regardless of the number of channels driven. When the crescendo in music, or the thrills, thunder and explosions in a movie call for instantaneous bursts of high power, amplifier output remains fluid and continuous.

View more of our CES special coverage Anthem engineered the P2 and P5 to perform like independent monoblock amplifiers. Each channel is self-contained on its own chassis with glass-epoxy circuit board and heatsink and benefits from its own independent power supply. Regardless of whether one channel or all channels are operating, the company says there is no penalty in performance, even when all channels are operating at maximum output.

By eliminating fuses in the DC rails, P2 and P5 amplifiers are Direct-Connected to the power supply. This keeps output impedance low while making more power available to the amplifier and ultimately to the speakers. If an output short circuit does occur, only our AC line breaker will trip—there are no fuses to replace. Once the condition disappears, Positive Temperature Coefficient thermistors (PTCs) automatically restore power to the affected channel(s) and the amplifier becomes fully functional again. Other convenience features include a three-way power on/off feature (manually, 120-Volt trigger and signal sensing), and oversized aluminum heat sinks that eliminate the need for noisy fans.

Rated at 325-watts into eight ohms (one or all-channels driven, continuous power), P2 and P5 amps are designed and built in North America. The fine-grained brushed aluminum cover and heavy-gauge 12-AWG steel chassis lend serious weight to these amplifiers. Detailed touches such as the blue LEDs add elegance to their high-end pedigree.
