Amazon Boasts 50% Off Blu-ray

Blu-ray Titles

Amazon is offering many Blu-ray movies at a discount through January 4.

The e-tailer is unloading a ton of movies but you might be able to find them cheaper elsewhere.

There was no shortage of Blu-ray player deals during the holiday shopping season. Now Amazon wants to sell you something to use with that new toy.

We found this link, which says that the e-tailer is having a bit of a Blu-ray fire sale. “Reservoir Dogs” for $10.49, “A Clockwork Orange” for $13.99, “Hulk” for $16.49, “No Country for Old Men” for $19.99, a whole season of “Lost” for $50; we could go on. Overall, it does seem like the perfect opportunity to pad that high-def collection.

We see 50 percent off, and start to click and salivate—simultaneously.

Of course, that’s the problem. A simple Google search found Buy.com and Walmart offering the same (if not sometimes better) prices every day. Still, if you’re looking for one-stop shopping and have pleasant Amazon experiences, the prices aren’t bad for Blu-ray.

The sale is expected to last through January 4, 2009. It will be interesting to see if the prices stay the same after that date.
