
Alienware’s Hangar18
The little alien head might make you think “X-Files” but it should also have you thinking high performance. That’s what Alienware is known for with its PCs, especially for those who use them for graphics-intensive gaming. Now the company has released what it calls an HD Entertainment Center with its Hangar18 product.
The Hangar18 seems to be part Apple TV, part TiVo, part PC all wrapped in one rack-like black component.
The component features 720p HDMI out as standard, and 1080p HDMI 1.3 out as an option, with dual TV combo tuners and up to four tuners (two analog, two HD) optional. It can store up to 2 terabytes of data, and operates on the Windows Vista platform.
