The Eco-Tech acoustic panels by Auralex.
Can acoustical treatments be “green?” You bet, and Auralex Acoustics is proving it with its Eco-Tech acoustic absorption panels due out on Oct. 15.
The 1-inch thick panels are made of 100-percent recycled poleyster fibers, according to Auralex. The company also says the new panels are available in the same color choices as its other panels, and at no increase in price. “It doesn’t cost more to go green,” says Tim Martin, Auralex’ director of marketing and sales.
Aurelex is also spicing up the look of drab old acoustic panels with custom-printed SonicPrint acoustic panels, fabric-covered acoustic panels designed as artwork (see below). Customers can choose between artwork from a catalog or have their own art printed on the fabric covering absorptive panels. Two-by-2-foot-by-1-inch panels will cost $149 and 2-by-4-foot-by-1-inch panels $199, according to the company. Custom panels can come in any size up to 5 by 10 feet and in thicknesses of ¾, 1, 2, or 4 inches.
The company says its Eco-Tech system panels can also be used with SonicPrint fabrics.
