The toughest part about a flat-panel TV installation these days isn’t necessarily its actual wall mounting. It could be finagling the cables to fit in the increasingly narrow room between the TV and the wall.

Accell is addressing the problem with its ProUltra Thin line of HDMI cables that the company says decreases the thickness of ordinary HDMI cables by 50 percent. That helps it achieve some more flexibility and wiggle room so you can hang your ultra-thin flat-panel flush with a wall and not worry about the bulk of the connections impeding the installation.

“Its soft and thin 36AWG wire allows for an exceptionally tight bend radius. Combined with its compact connector, the ProUltra Thin cables greatly reduce the space behind today’s extremely-thin wall mounted displays,” says Accell’s Michael Weizer.

Additionally, Accell says it has decreased the length of the actual connector area, shortening it by 45 percent to just 0.96 inch, to complement the cable’s flexible design. The company offers the cables in lengths of 3.3 and 6.6 feet. They’re available in both round and flat formats.

Accell says the ProUltra Thin HDMI cables support the 1.4 spec feature set including 1080p, 4K and 3D video and color depths up to 48-bits, built-in Ethernet and Audio Return Channel (HEAC). The company says the cables are High Speed certified, supporting data throughputs of up to 10.2Gbps.
