The whole green thing is in—not just saving energy, but also saving money in the process.

For those looking to go green in every way, Nevvus Group has announced the Powergard. This plug-in device can store energy lost in the operation of inductive motors—and then recycle it for later use.

“As individual consumers, we may feel that there is little we can do to change and save the world,” says Catherine Dumas, VP of international business development for Nevvus. “We can start by limiting the energy we consume in our homes. Aside from turning off lights and appliances when we leave the room or using cold water to wash clothes, Powergard is an effective way to reduce electrical consumption.”

Just plug Powergard into any outlet. It also works to reduce power spikes and energy surges, while regulating your electrical system. The company says the device will save users 10 percent or more on monthly electric bills.

Of course, you have to spend more to make money; the Powergard retails for $200.

I have not had the opportunity to test out the product, but it does say it has a money-back guarantee. However, I don’t know if it’s a pain to go through that process.

Either way, I think the product would have more takers if it was in the $50 range.

Sounds like nonsense. How is this any different from any line conditioner? Those products do not claim to reduce energy consumption....
