You gotta love Popcorn Hour. The name is great, and we’d say that with its equally colorful Networked Media Tank A-110 product, we could spend many hours in front of our TVs with popcorn.
Popcorn Hour is taking pre-orders on this product, which is an upgrade of its A-100. Any fan of networked media will be thrilled with the ability to grab audio, video and photos from your PC or multiple storage devices like a NAS, USB flash drive, a supported internal SATA HDD, your digi camera and the like.
You can stream content or play it back to your HDTV or in your theater, with video in up to 1080p and audio passthrough of the latest DTS HD-Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD with its HDMI 1.3a updated functionality.
The A-110 can act as a NAS or BitTorrent P2P downloader without you having to turn on the PC, says Popcorn Hour, while you can also access web vids through the Media Service Portal from a bunch of sites: YouTube, Veoh, Videocast, DLTV, Cranky Geeks, Bliptv, PodfinderUK, Vuze, Break Podcast, Revision 3, CNN The Larry King Podcast, CNN Anderson Cooper 360, The CNN Daily, CNN In Case You Missed It , NBC Meet The Press, NBC Today, CBS Face the Nation, NBC Nightly News, and Mevio.
Check out Popcorn Hour’s site for more of the nitty-gritty on the A-110, which at $215 runs a little more than the $179 A-100. The company says pre-order delivery can take from two to four weeks, so that gives you plenty of time to stock up on popcorn and any other candy.
