This back yard has it all, whether you’re into athletics or A/V.
A pool, a Jacuzzi, a putting green, and a sports court for basketball or other activities are included in the environment that California-based custom electronics pro Simply Sight and Sound integrated its audio/video angles.
“The client asked for sound for the whole back yard area. So we installed multiple pairs of Destination Audio outdoor speakers in the planters around the pool and sports court, in the trellis above the Jacuzzi, in the corners of the bar area and in the outdoor living room,” says Simply Sight and Sound’s Jeff Cooper.
Mainly combining to control and provide content in the expanse are an Onkyo Multi Zone Receiver and controls from RTI. The homeowners can watch television or a DVD movie in the living room area and play music throughout the rest of the yard thanks to the multizone capability of the Onkyo.
“We programmed an RTI U1 and a RTI M2 remote to give the client easy control from anywhere in the back yard,” says Cooper. “And when we say anywhere, we mean anywhere—they can even take the U1 into the pool or Jacuzzi to change channels, CDs, radio stations and volume control.”
In addition to the hand-held remote controls, Simply Sight and Sound installed volume controls in each area of the yard to allow for local control.
A Mitsubishi 46-inch LCD is installed flush into the stone above the fireplace, and is the focal point of the entertainment area, where movies and a cable box are the main entertainment sources. All of the A/V gear for the outside system is housed in a cabinet under the bar. Talk about refreshment.
