Digital cameras introduced a generation of photographers to a faster, friendlier way to print photos. But as with any successful technology, there’s always room for improvement.
Polaroid introduced a new digital camera at CES 2009 designed to help us print and share our snaps faster than ever before.
The PoGo Instant Digital Camera from Polaroid combines a digital camera with an instant printer. With the push of a button, you can select from among the digital photos stored in the camera, crop or edit them and in less than 60 seconds print full-color, 2x3-inch prints—all from one device.
“This is the digital version of our traditional instant camera, which consumers have loved since the ‘70s,” says Jon Pollock, vice president and general manager, Digital Imaging.
Unlike the photos of old-style instant cameras, you won’t need to shake these Polaroids to get them to develop.
The PoGo features 100 percent inkless printing, and the prints come with a sticky back for easy mounting. The camera will be available in March at major retailers for a suggested retail price of $199. Polaroid had shown its PoGo Instant Mobile Printer as an intro to this family line back in July.
