Burn Hollywood, burn. That’s the idea behind two new Plextor drives, which each pack Qflix recording technology.
The company just announced the PX-Q840U external drive and the PX-806SA internal. Both have the tech from Sonic Solutions, which means you can download and burn movie and TV titles in the privacy of your own home—without drawing the shades.
Like other Qflix-enabled drives, these units include Roxio Venue software that allows users to download and burn movies from the CinemaNow web service.
“The Qflix technology makes it easy for all consumers, not just the tech-savvy, to access and manage digital entertainment at home,” said Bob Gronski, vice president of sales and marketing for Plextor. “In an economic time when people are going out less and taking advantage of home entertainment more, it’s exciting for us to offer a solution with such limitless entertainment capabilities.”
Each package also includes Roxio Creator 10 CE burning software and two recordable Qflix DVDs by Ridata. Both drives are available now, with the PX-Q840U (external) going for $150 and the PX-806SA internal costing $90.
