MLB.com features its Mosaic 6-game-at-once service this season
Opening day to another Major League Baseball season is here, and for all of you baseball and/or fantasy league junkies, MLB.com has taken its video to another level this year.
Scheduled to be available as a download today, MLB.com’s MLB.TV Mosaic service will allow viewers to watch six live games at once streamed on their screens, and jump from game to game for selected audio on one of the six.
MLB.com claims it has improved video for the service that streams at speeds up to 1.5 MB. For anyone whose big-screen TV is hooked up to his PC, this looks like a good way to turn your living room into a pseudo-sports bar.
Check out the demo here. For single games, MLB.com has upped its speed to 700K for the 2007 season on its premium package ($119.95 for the season). Streaming speed is 400K for the basic package ($89.95).
The Mosaic feature also Player Tracker alerts for when your favorite (i.e. fantasy team) players are about to step to the plate. Play ball indeed!
