Could you live without this in your living room?
Are plasma TVs killing the environment? One conservative group thinks so—and they plan to do something about it.
The Sun is reporting that The Conservatives will propose to bans plasmas and any other energy-hogging electronics, such as refrigerators and computers. What will happen to our nation’s popsicles??
Stay cool, folks. This is just being proposed in the UK, by Conservative Party leader David Cameron. As part of the proposal, they are looking to cap certain appliances’ energy use. They are also talking about labeling each product with annual usage stats, and how those might measure up to other products.
Something worth noting: They would also like to offer energy-conserving homeowners a tax break.
I am all for making products more energy-efficient, but will this fly with people that have already made such major electronics purchases? What do you plasma owners think?
The proposal will be presented on Thursday.

As I sit here in Ohio and its a little cold(-12 F) I wonder what will be banned next Toasters maybe. I guess we could all buy solar powered toasters but then we would probably burn ourselves or our houses and the goverment would ban them because there a safety hazard. I also live with-in 25 mile radius of two nuclear power plants, one coal powered plant(hasn’t been shutdown yet) a company that makes solar panels and four large wind turbines. Oh Ohio also has enough coal to produce electricity for 100 plus years available that we can’t or won’t be able to use.
Also does any one realize that if we don’t use generated electricity we lose it. Any suggestions are what to do with this lost electricity?
