If you blink, you might miss the Pioneer KURO. That’s because it’s the thinnest 50-inch display on the planet—that’s according to Pioneer. I am going to have to trust them because I neither have the models or the measuring skills to call them out on that.

Announced today, Project KURO is a series of new concepts showing how thin and black that plasma TV can be. Oh—the picture looks pretty darn cool as well.

The set they are showing off at the Consumer Electronics Show is nine measly millimeters thin. They also claim it’s so black that when it’s on (with no image shown), it practically disappears into your wall—if you have black walls, I guess.

Even with no other specs, we like the eye candy. Unfortunately, it won’t be available this year, but we have a few extra pictures to tease you with in the slideshow.
