Fans of Pioneer’s highly acclaimed Kuro plasma will be chomping at the bit to see how the company’s new projector bearing the same branding will perform.

Pioneer showed off its new Kuro KRF-9000FD theater projector today at the High End trade show in Munich, Germany. The LCoS (liquid crystal on silicon) projector provides for the full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, and a nice little contrast ratio of 30,000:1, for starters.

You’ll have some leeway placing the KRF-9000FD in your setup too, with lens shift capabilities that include 80 percent vertical and 34 percent horizontal adjustments.

The projector will produce images up to 14.5 by 8 feet, and there’s a 2x zoom lens for your smaller theater rooms.

Unfortunately there’s no news about a U.S. launch date, but the Kuro projector will be available in Europe next month for 8,000 euros (a little over $12,000 USD).
