Thinking about a new remote? While less clutter around the house is nice, trying to pick the right remote can be a bit of a mess. Philips plans to confuse your decision process a bit more, when the Prestigo SRT9320 makes its debut sometime in early 2009.
The unit has a 2.8 color touchscreen as well as hard buttons, says CNET. It sounds very typical, with the channel favorites as well as icons. It can handle control of up to 20 different devices.
The one “difference” is that they are taking an old-school programming route. The Prestigo does have a USB port for updates (such as the channel icons), but doesn’t need a PC for programming. Whether or not the PC thing is a bonus is between you and your macros skills.
Expect to see the Prestigo SRT9320 on shelves sometime in Q1 2009. The MSRP will be $249.
