Philips’ Ambisound HTS8100 SoundBar
Why have six sometimes unsightly pieces of electronics in your living room when you can get the job done with one stylish one?
Philips Electronics’ new Ambisound home theater system (HTS8100), with its SoundBar piece, creates a full 5.1 surround-sound experience through a one-piece fully integrated home theater system, the company says. Ambisound does it in a sleek, sophisticated design, too, making it a fine complement to a flat-panel display that it can be wall-mounted below.
Only 5 inches thick, the Ambisound SoundBar provides an amplifier and a DVD player all in a single design. For maximum audio quality and clarity, the Ambisound system features a 3-band equalizer and DoubleBASS deep bass performance, creating a smooth crossover between sounds, Philips says. The speakers utilize soft dome tweeters for increased clarity and clear voice performance and are designed for maximum efficiency of full midrange performance.
Additionally, the Smart Surround feature automatically ensures correct surround sound settings whether a movie or music is playing, the company says.
The HTS8100 Ambisound system carries an MSRP of $999 and is expected to be available the second quarter of this year. For more, visit www.philips.com.
