Perfect8 Technologies can sure make some pretty speakers—pretty expensive speakers.
That said, the newly announced line known as The Point MKII Evolution is certainly a sight to behold. That’s because the Swedish manufacturer has made the line out of glass. That’s really nothing new for the company. However, this speaker system has a whole new design, as well as a new custom air motion transducer geared towards dipole applications.
This latest model also has a smaller subwoofer enclosure, with 10-inch drivers for tight, ultra controlled bass. Other features include ultra-stiff aluminum cones driven by an oversized 22-pound magnet, as well as DSP controlled amplifier technology and Class D subwoofer amplifiers. The web rumor is that The Point MKII Evolution is priced around $120,000, which sounds about right. The entire Perfect8 line runs between $50,000 and $375,000, depending on the model.
