Peak Puts Out Guitar Controller
The Starpex allows gamers to rock out in style, with the first-ever full-size wood guitar for the PS2 and PS3.
July 16, 2008 | by Rachel Cericola

You know those guys (and gals) that get just a little bit too much into “Guitar Hero?” Well now you can feed those rock star antics with Peak’s Starpex guitar controller.

Designed for PS2 and PS3 play, this controller is full-sized, so you can make like Clapton, Hendrix, Townshend, Slash, or any other obligatory rock god. The unit has a high-gloss lacquered finish, and a hardwood body, neck and headstock, making “Guitar Hero” and “Rock Band” seem so real, you can almost hear the applause.

If you’re not into such realism, you can play around with some of the included controls, such as the Star Power and Overdrive buttons. Other features include 10 fret buttons, a whammy bar, and a strum bar.

The Starpex guitar comes with a 15-foot wired cable or you can use the 2.4GHz connection for wireless access.

Expect to see various guitar bodies and pick guards pop up at some point. Until then, the Starpex will be available in late August for $180.
