The first statement was a big one. The second version from Anthem puts the capital “S” in Statement.

The Canadian-based electronics manufacturer is now shipping its Statement D2v, version two, preamplifier/processor. For our friends from north of the border, let’s just say this generation Statement compared to the original packs a punch like Canadian beer compared to American.

Let’s start with HDMI, since we’re connecting more HD sources these days. Statement D2v has you more than well covered, as the rear panel has barely any surface room not covered by an input or output, starting with four more HDMI 1.3c inputs and one more HDMI 1.3c output—that brings those totals on D2v to eight inputs and two outputs, respectively.

Of course, you’ll want to connect a Blu-ray player and make sure you’ve got the latest lossless audio formats to enjoy from your surround-sound system. Anthem’s delivered two dual-core DSP engines for 800 MIPS (million instructions per second) processing power for your Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High-Resolution Audio and Dolby Digital Plus, as well as 24/192 PCM audio input, for up to 7.1 channels.

To ensure that you’re optimizing your system, Anthem’s Room Correction (ARC) system is standard and takes into consideration your room conditions and frequency response for the best audio reproduction.

On the video side, the Statement’s updated VXP digital image processor offers fully-adaptive de-interlacing, 3D noise reduction, mosquito noise reduction, block artifact reduction, adaptive detail enhancement, and adaptive contrast enhancement for your viewing pleasure.

The premium performance machine also carries a premium price tag of $7,499, and that’s USD.
