Panasonic’s PCH2180 HD-DVR
Panasonic has been ahead of the game so far when it comes to tru2way technology, and is showcasing its products incorporating the technology at the Cable Show 2008 going on right now.
Among the highlights is the company’s PCH2180 tru2way HD-DVR set-top box, which is expected to start shipping in July.
The PCH2180 is a set-top receiver that lets you record high-definition and integrates a multi-stream CableCard host interface. It supports digital video codecs of MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and VC1, plus it can incorporate a MoCA Home Networking option.
At the Cable Show, Panasonic is also showing its tru2way flat-panel Viera HDTVs that incorporate the cable receiver capability within the set’s chassis; and the Portable DVR TZ-LC100, which is expected in early 2009 and will let you make your DVR’d content mobile so you can play it back anywhere.
