Panasonic will be offering 85-, 103- and 152-inch 3D plasmas this fall.
Was that 84-inch 4K 3D LCD introduced by LG a few weeks back not enough screen real estate for you? Do you have an entire wall you need to cover with 3D?
Well, you’re in luck. Panasonic is shipping a 152-inch 4K resolution 3D plasma this fall.
Size isn’t all that Panasonic’s new beast has going for it. With 5,000,000:1 native contrast ratio, blacks will stay rich and deep even when on-screen characters reach life-size. 4K resolution inputs come via DVI and HD-SDI, while two HDMI ports are present for more traditional sources.
If 152 inches are a few too many, Panasonic will also be releasing 85- and 103-inch models. The smaller models will only have 1080p resolution, but they won’t require a forklift to be moved.
Panasonic will begin taking orders July 1 and expects U.S. shipments to start this fall, with other markets in the near future. Pricing has not released.
