You might not be able to have hair like Captain Kirk, but you can apparently have his chair—at least something like it, anyway.
Diamond Select Toys will soon offer a replica chair for over the $1,000 mark. At that price, you might be able to fill a theater full of them—and if you do, let me know. There’s an article in there somewhere!
Gizmodo says it’s too bad they didn’t try to market Picard’s chair. I think you should be able to choose your own captain. After all, if you’re spending a grand, you don’t want to clash! Aside from web-wide bragging rights, the chair will also come with flashing lights, buttons, and sound effects, which might include dialog from a few classic episodes.
There’s no exact release date on the Kirk chair replica, but it’s expected to land in homes in early 2009.
