The sun is out—I saw it, even if it was for a fleeting moment. For many, even those few occasions are reason enough to fire up the barbecue and starting cranking out music.

Instead of dragging speakers out for the possibility of sun, Soundcast has its OutCast. This all-weather, outdoor unit can transmit audio signals up to 350 feet.

Other specs include an 8-inch downward firing woofer, four 3-inch high-frequency drivers and a 100-watt digital amp. The unit uses a rechargeable battery pack to blast music anywhere outside. It also has the iCast transmitter, which includes buttons that can remotely access an iPod. (Other devices can connect via the auxiliary input/output.)

While the company didn’t dress it up as nice as this OutKast, it’s got a decent cylindrical shape. It looks a bit like one of those Mosquito devices though. Hopefully those aren’t attracted to getting the Led out.

The OutCast is out now; it retails for $699 on the company’s website.
