Orb offers its Mod4 in three different packages, ranging from $1,699 to $2,239.
There are plenty of box speakers. Round ones? Not so much.
Now Orb Audio is trying to close that gap a bit more, adding the Mod4 into its line. Twice says that the new model includes four new orbs, each measuring 4.2 inches in diameter.
Prices vary, depending on the number of speakers, what other Mod models are in the mix, and whether or not the package comes with a subwoofer.
The least expensive package ($1,699) includes three Mod4 speakers and anywhere from two to four Mod2 units to tackle the surround and rear areas, but no subwoofer. The next step up ($1,999) has the sub, as well as Mod4s for the front speakers and Mod2s in the back. The top-of-the-heap ($2,239) uses all Mod4 units for the full 5.1-, 6.1- or 7.1-channel setup.
Currently, Orb sells exclusively over the web, directly to the consumer. The company is also looking at retail and other web outlets.
