Not everyone needs an A/V setup that shakes the walls. For something slightly smaller scale, Onkyo has debuted two new A/V mini systems.

Perfect for the office, bedroom, garage or other small area, both the CS-V645 and the CS-V445 include an iPod dock, 40-watt amplifier sections and a pair of two-way bass-reflex loudspeakers. Those speakers have 1-inch soft dome tweeters and Onkyo’s own OMF (Onkyo Micro Fiber) woofer cones.

The big difference here is that the CS-V645 adds in DVD playback (sorry, no Blu-ray!), a front-panel USB port, and an HDMI video output with 1080p upscaling. Aside from DVD and CD playback, it also supports MP3, WMA, JPEG, and DivX file formats. It also does good old radio, with the DVD receiver including a 20-present FM tuner, while the CS-V445 has an AM/FM tuner with 40 presets.

Both systems also come with a full-function remote control. The Onkyo CS-445 will be available this month, with an MSRP of $329. Expect the CS-V645 to come along in December, for another $70.
