Onkyo certainly knows how to make an entrance. The company just debuted three new receiver models. However, the belle of the ball has got to be the TX-NR5010 Network AVR.

This 9-channel flagship model supports the latest DTS Neo:X codec, meaning that it can convert just about any audio source into 11.4-channel surround sound. Also, the company says that this model is the first time an AV component has featured Cisco Linksys’ SimpleTap technology. Double whammy!

Onkyo is also releasing the 9-channel TX-NR3010 and the 7-channel TX-NR1010 into its 2012 lineup.

All three models include THX Ultra2 Plus certification, Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room equalization with channel upmixing from DTS Neo:X, and support for Audyssey DSX and Dolby Pro Logic IIz. The entire lineup will also feature plenty of networking goodies, 3D support, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, and Silicon Image’s InstaPrevue picture-in-picture video input preview and selection technology.

Other features across the line will include Three-Stage Inverted Darlington Circuitry, ISF video calibration, Onkyo’s Dual Core Video Engine, and the HQV Vida VHD1900 chip with Marvell’s Qdeo technology for upscaling to 4K.

As far as some specifics, that top-of-the-line TX-NR5010 will deliver 220 watts per channel, with four subwoofer outputs, a massive toroidal transformer, gold-plated AV terminals, and a $2,999 MSRP. The TX-NR3010 is similar with the four sub outputs, but drops the power down to 200 watts per channel and the price to $2,299.

Last, but not least, the 7.2-channel TX-NR1010 packs in the punch of 200 watts per channel and two subwoofer outputs. That one can be had for $1,799 when Onkyo ships all three this month.
