Onkyo just announced its first Blu-ray player will come later this year.
It took them a bit, but Onkyo just announced that its first Blu-ray player will be coming soon.
Unfortunately, that’s all they announced. There wasn’t too much information on the product—like a name, a price, a photo… I could go on. Maybe they are building suspense.
The only thing we do know is that it’s coming, and the company is hoping that consumers will couple the unit with an Onkyo high-def A/V receiver, which features Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio support.
Expect the Onkyo Blu-ray player to hit later this year. Stay tuned for more info on specs, pricing and an actual release date.
In February, Onkyo announced that it would stop producing its DV-HD805 HD DVD player. During its release, the DV-HD805 retailed for $899.
