
NuVo Technologies is adding to its stable of energy-efficient whole-house audio systems, with three radio tuners that meet Energy Star specifications.
The three tuners join NuVo’s Essentia E6G six-source/six-zone multi-room audio system, the first of its kind to earn the Energy Star badge. Qualified Energy Star audio products use about 6 percent less energy than non-Energy Star audio gear, by keeping standby, or the electricity used while a product is turned “off” to under 1 watt.

The NV-T2SIR is available in North America, while the NV-T2FAM-EX and NV-T2DAB are available in Europe. The North America tuner uses .74 watts in standby, according to Energy Star.
The three tuners also meet RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) requirements, which restrict use of six major harmful substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE), all of which are deemed toxic.
