Forget loved ones; Nokia wants to connect you with a killer music catalog.
The word on the web is that the cell phone manufacturer plans to launch a service called “Comes With Music.” According to Crave, all you need to do is buy the handset and you’ll get a year’s worth of music downloads—as many as your fingers can type up on that tiny handset. When the year is up, so is the free ride, but your parting gift is that you get to keep everything you’ve already downloaded.
So far, Universal is the only company that has committed its catalog, so maybe it’s not such a great deal—yet.
Another announcement that’s very interesting is that the Nokia Internet Radio service is up, running and will be embedded in the upcoming Nokia S60 models.
Hundred of web radio stations are available, from all over the world. It looks pretty easy to find them too, with the ability to search by station, genre, country or language. Hourly updates will also keep you abreast of what the top 10 most popular stations are.
You don’t have to wait for newer models to get free music; the Nokia Internet Radio application is currently available for use with the Nokia N82, Nokia N91, Nokia N95 and Nokia N95 8GB.
