Nintendo says the new DSi portable gaming system will be available in the U.S on April 5. It will come in two colors - black or blue - and retail for $169.99.
Some of the features that separate the DSi from the popular DS are two 0.3 megapixel cameras, a voice recorder and music player. The DSi has a slightly larger touchscreen and is a bit thinner.
One camera is on the exterior, and the second one points at the user when the device is flipped open. Who wouldn’t want to capture their expression in the middle of playing “Rhythm Heaven?”
With the Nintendo DSi Sound application, users can play with their music while they listen to it. Users can access different audio filters or control the pitch and speed of a recorded voice or songs.
The DSi can also play the more than 850 titles made for the DS. It does not include a slot for Game Boy Advance games.
