Last week, Nintendo announced plans for the MotionPlus, a little plug-in peripheral that would add more motion sensitivity to your Wii play. Now, G4 says that the company may put the technology right inside that little handheld.
“As to looking at whether or not it will be an attachment or built in—we’re always looking at how hardware should evolve and where we should take it,” said Nintendo’s Katsuya Eguchi. “Unfortunately I don’t have a definite direction to give you today, but it’s something we’ll be looking at.”
If you already have Wii, you’d still need the add-on to feel the new-and-improved action, but it would be nice one-stop shopping for future controller purchases.
Wii MotionPlus promises quicker, more accurate motion for your Wii play. It’s expected to pop up next spring. “Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play,” the company said in a statement.
