Just last week, a Tweet had the gaming world frothing and marking their calendars. The rumor was that the highly anticipated Nintendo 3DS was coming very soon.

Well, it’s all lies. Now, Nintendo is getting official, today announcing plans to ship the device in Japan starting February 26. It will then arrive in the U.S. and Europe sometime in March.

According to Engadget, the Japanese price will be about $298. No U.S. pricing has been announced yet. The 3DS will be available in both blue and black and come with a front-facing camera. That will allow you to take your own picture and convert it to a Mii on the go. The device will also come with a 2GB SD card.

If you are fluent in Japanese, you can get more info on Nintendo’s 3DS website. If not, it’s still worth a peek to see some of the device’s features and games up close. Also, check out the Japanese promo video below for a little walk-through and a look at the game lineup.
