NHT will begin shipping a new speaker system in March that it says is specifically designed for consumers who want high-performance stereo and home theater that complements their HD flat-panel displays, while keeping an elegant aesthetic, small size and affordability.
The company’s “Verve” speaker packages feature two satellite sizes and one subwoofer and can come in several configurations, both with and without NHT’s complementary component selection.
Design-wise, Verve satellite cabinets are made with Bulk Molding Compound (BMC), which provides design flexibility and low resonant characteristics that are especially important in small speakers, NHT says.
The Verve satellites measure 10.5 x 5.5 x 6.25 inches and 15.5 x 5.5 x 6.25 inches for the small and large models, respectively. They include an acoustic suspension, three-way design, with a coaxial driver containing a 3/4-inch tweeter and 3-inch midrange drive unit supported by one 4-inch woofer i the small version and dual 4-inch woofers in the large.
NHT says it designed the Verve satellites with an integrated, removable table stand to accompany flat-panel TVs mounted on walls and stands, or the speakers can also be easily mounted to a wall via the included wall mount key.
At 14 x 24 x 6 inches, the compact subwoofer offers placement flexibility, and NHT touts its industrial design. It includes two active aluminum cone 10-inch drivers in an acoustic suspension enclosure, powered by an internal 200-watt cool-running digital amplifier.
