For those who digital media players and PCs as main sources of entertainment for music, movies and gaming, NHT is introducing a new PVC (Passive Volume Control) model to its line of high performance PC Hi-Fi products.
The new PVC, dubbed PVC PC, features both Left/Right RCA and 3.5mm (mini-headphone) jacks for input and output to work for computer-based sound or for a digital player connected to a powered speaker.
The PVC PC, with an MSRP of $160, provides a simple desktop stereo volume control solution for precise sonic adjustments, from 0 to –40dB. It features Jensen transformers that isolate the ground between the source unit and the playback components for noise-free performance, NHT says.
By using an advanced outboard volume control, the company adds, consumers bypass a computer’s “software volume control” applets that reduce bit rate and, ultimately, sound quality.
