We can’t stress the whole backing up thing enough. It may seen silly—until you get zapped, of course. Netgear is making the option more enticing and affordable with new versions of its ReadyNAS products.
Just announced, the new ReadyNAS Duo and ReadyNAS NV+ are designed for value-conscious home office users, as well as home media enthusiasts. Promising faster performance than its predecessors, both models have a completely updated interface and lower price tags.
Netgear says that both ReadyNAS products can deliver personalized, private cloud storage in about eight clicks. The cloud can then be used to store and access music, photos, video and important documents, all from anywhere in the world.
Both the two-bay ReadyNAS Duo v2 and 4-bay ReadyNAS NV+ v2 have automatic capacity expansion, USB 3.0 ports, an updated photo sharing application, and support for the ReadyNAS Remote app. One other nifty perk is that both devices can can stream music, HD movies and photos to home media devices like TVs, game consoles and TiVo.
Expect both products to start shipping on November 13, 2011. The Duo v2 starts at $199, with the NV+ v2 featuring a starting price of $399. Both products include 90 days of 24/7 technical support and a three-year limited warranty.
