Back in the day, I remember talking about a product called EyeTV. The DIYers knew of it, but it never took off like some of the other PVR/place-shifting products.

Something tells me that’s about to change.

The guys over at Crunch Gear are reporting that EyeTV’s 2.5 version will now stream to the iPhone or iPod Touch products via Wi-Fi. It’s not live, but what do you care?

Other Mac-friendly features allow you to record and watch TV and create playlists on any Mac with OS X version 10,4 or higher, a G4 or G5.

The EyeTV 2.5 update is free and new customers can buy it; both are readily available on ElGato’s website.
