I’ve been asked to assume the role of acting editor for Electronic House. It’s something I did for many years in the earlier days with founding editor Lisa Montgomery.
Now I’m at it again, with a strong team of existing editors, including Lisa, Steve Castle, Rachel Cericola, Arlen Schweiger and some of the best freelancers in the business.
Cindy Davis, the editor of Electronic House for the past seven years, will continue with EH as a consultant. During her tenure, Electronic House dramatically increased its total audience both in print and online via electronichouse.com.
So I’m coming in at a time when EH enjoys unprecedented visibility in the industry, and a strong foundation that only Cindy could have established.
I co-founded EH’s parent company EH Publishing with CEO Ken Moyes in 1994, and have edited just about all of our publications at some time. In the past few years, most of my focus has been on our trade business, including CE Pro magazine and the Electronic House Expos.
I will continue my active role in those businesses while leading Electronic House.
As I get reacquainted with the consumer business, I hope to hear from readers, advertisers and other friends of EH. What do you like about EH? What could be improved? How can EH best serve your needs?
I’m pretty blunt myself, so feel free to reciprocate with your candid comments and questions, either via email or the comments section below.
Like everyone out there, I’m perpetually behind on my emails by a few hundred at any given time. So if I don’t respond personally, please forgive me. And if you have something of vital importance, I don’t object to nagging.
I’ll share your comments with the rest of the editorial team so we can continue to improve our products.
Thanks for your continued support and I look forward to getting my hands dirty again!
