Netflix and its “watch instantly” streaming content seem to be showing up everywhere — and it may soon make its way into Apple products and Nintendo Wii.

According to unnamed executives cited by Afterdawn, Netflix is preparing to bring its “watch instantly” feature to Nintendo Wii and the Apple iPhone and iPod touch. It notes that the iPhone and iPod touch would most likely block the viewing of content over the 3G, due to AT&T’s “alleged throttling of bandwidth intense applications.”

Apple would prefer consumers download movies and TV content through its iTunes library, but Netflix’s instantly viewable 12,000 movies and TV episodes are gaining steam with consumers.

Netflix has partnered with TiVo, Sony, LG, ZeeVee, Windows Media Center, Roku, ReQuest and others. Perhaps, Apple wants to jump on the bandwagon.

Nintendo Wii certainly makes sense as a potential Netflix partner since Microsoft Xbox 360 already offers access to the “Watch Instantly” feature.

Absent from the report is Apple TV, a device that would make it easier for consumers to watch the instant Netflix content on their TVs. “If Netflix can convince [Apple CEO Steve] Jobs and company that ‘Watch Instantly’ will be OK on the iPhone, then it can argue the same for the Apple TV,” contends CNET.

Netflix streaming is more of a neat toy. It is definitely not my preferred format for watching movies and shows.Phone Cases

Hello everyone!

If you don’t have a PS3 or XBox, definitely go with the wii. Ipod touch is really, really cool, no doubt about it, but you need a next-gen gaming system! and the wii is fantastic.

Wii is coming out with a HD version in 2011. It will have HDMI output. I am assuming the resolution will be increased to at least 720p. This is fine for your standard TV, but for front projection systems this is less than ideal. Netflix streaming is more of a neat toy. It is definitely not my preferred format for watching movies and shows.

well actually , if you by the component cables for the wii you would be able to get a 480p signal, which is a high res cable.. maybe they come out with a way to be able to make it a much more higher res .  but i see no problem with them doing this, in act i think its a great idea..  it would be even great if they have this for the PSP also..

Here’s the problem I have with Netflix being brought to the Wii.  The Wii only does 800x472 in a 16:9, in other words - low-res.  I would be much more excited if they were bringing it to the PS/3 in full HD.

What video I’ve watched on the PS/3 in the web browser (beyond the Blu-ray movies) the video isn’t that great…
