Netflix continues to try to ramp up its options for the popular Watch Instantly streaming service.

The company teamed with Hollywood studios Paramount, Lions Gate and MGM this week to announce streaming rights to movie features that will be available from Netflix three months after they’re out on pay television, according to the Los Angeles Times (via the New York Times).

At last count, the Watch Instantly feature from the online and mail-in rental giant was around 17,000 movie and TV selections to be touted—just a fraction of the 100,000-plus physical discs Netflix offers. But the company recently padded its streaming service through agreements with Relativity Media and Warner Bros (expanding that relationship) before this week’s news.

The deal with Paramount, Lions Gate and MGM is actually a teaming with cable movie channel Epix, which has rights to films from those three studios. However, if you haven’t heard of Epix you’re probably not alone. It’s certainly no HBO or Starz.

Still trying to gain some of that cable and satellite market share, though, Epix and Netflix agreed to the three-month window before such movies will stream onto Netflix, so the cable and sats are catered to first.

Then you’ll be able to start queuing up what you can find and streaming away, and maybe not have to complain as much about the lack of options from Watch Instantly.
