A lot of homeowners are now using smartphones and tablets for home control. Crestron wants to make those users a little more comfortable — but with something that’s distinctively Crestron.
The company just announced the 10-inch TSW-1050, a new tablet-sized touchscreen. As part of Crestron’s Core 3 UI-powered family, the TSW-1050 boasts extreme HD graphics and high-res colors.
Crestron has packed this small portable with support for a ton of features, including PoE, H.264 streaming video, and Rava SIP Intercom technology. Of course, it can also tap into a slew of home systems, including heating and cooling, lighting, home theaters, multiroom audio, security cameras, and more.
Other touchscreen features include 3D-like GUI effects, five soft-touch buttons, kinetic effects, access to AV libraries, and gesture navigation to swipe, scroll, drag, and drop.
Crestron plans to offer the super-thin TSW collection in 5-, 7- and 10-inch models. The 10-inch TSW-1050 will join a 7-incher that started shipping last fall, along with the 5-inch TSW-550. That one will be coming later this quarter.
“TSW touchscreens feature the gorgeous design elements of today’s popular mobile devices, advanced high resolution graphics that many people say exceeds the latest tablets, and highly responsive control performance to deliver an incredible user experience,” says Fred Bargetzi, Crestron VP of technology. “Screen sizes and pricing are comparable to the latest consumer tablets, with the power and reliability of Crestron control.”
