NAD introduced its cool little VISO 1 wireless music player late last year. Now, it’s getting a cool little upgrade. The company just announced the new NAD VISO 1 AP, which adds Apple AirPlay into the device’s list of perks.

The NAD VISO 1 AP includes WiFi support, making it easy to stream iTunes or web-based music services from your iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, PC or Mac. If you don’t have one of those devices handy, the NAD VISO 1 AP also has high-fidelity aptX Bluetooth. For something more direct, the device has a rear USB port and a 24/96 capable optical input.

Designed in collaboration with PSB Speakers (NAD’s sister company) and New York design firm DF-ID, it includes an acoustic design refined and tweaked by PSB’s own Paul Barton, as well as NAD’s Direct Digital DAC/amplifier technology.

“From the outset, our mission with NAD VISO 1 was to bring NAD’s unmatched leadership in digital innovation to a whole new generation of music lovers, while establishing itself as a true high-end sound system designed for those who demand the best in sound,” said Greg Stidsen, NAD’s director of technology and product planning. “With NAD VISO 1 AP, we now expand that to an even wider audience with the addition of WiFi and Apple AirPlay.”

NAD will start selling the VISO 1 AP in November. It will be available with a white or black finish, for $600 MSRP.
