If you’re worried about your HDMI cable becoming obsolete, Monster Cable has a connector for you. The company announced this week an upgrade path for consumers who buy its Cable for Life that will be in stores in September.
The Cable for Life upgrade is available for the Home Theater Ultra 1000, M Series M1000HD and Monster Cable 1000HD cables. The company says it expects these cables to meet or exceed all HDMI performance requirements for the next 5 years. A 1-meter M1000HD cable under the Cable for Life program has a suggested retail price of $99.
Monster is also offering consumers value packs for flat-screen TVs that incorporate power, cable and cleaning solutions. The Monster FlatScreen High-Definition Performance Pack ($99) includes a 2-meter HDMI cable, an AVFL 200 including two outlets with AC surge protection and a pair of coaxial cable connections with surge protection, and Screen Clean, a microfiber cloth and solution for cleaning screens without abrasion.
