Beats by Dr. Dre will come with Monster’s iSonitalk, a microphone/headphone adapter for iPhones.
The Chronic meets stereophonic. Rap pioneer Dr. Dre and Interscope Records chair Jimmy Iovine have both teamed up with Monster Cable to release a pair of headphones titled Beats by Dr. Dre.
Dre doesn’t just slap his name onto any old silly pair of headphones. Over the two years that they’ve been in development, Monster pumped out a whole new driver technology for Dre’s Beats.
“When I’m making a track I’m trying to capture the sound that makes me go ‘now THAT’s the s**t! And I want that reaction from everybody who hears it,” said Dr. Dre. “I spend a lot of time in the studio listening to my music through headphones… with Beats, people are finally going to hear it the way they should: the way I do.”
Not sure if this is incredibly cool or kind of a sellout, but I am interested to strap on the $400 set this spring and see what kinds of beats Dre can drop.
