The placeshifting market is about to explode, thanks to the Vulkano Flow.
Monsoon Multimedia just announced that its Vulkano Flow add-on is now available for the masses.
The add-on hooks to any set-top box, allowing users to stream any TV channel or recorded DVR content to a smartphone, tablet device or computer, both in and outside of the house—and up to 1080i. That means it works with iPhone, Android and BlackBerry smartphones and tablets, iPads, Macs, and PCs. Support for Windows 7 and Symbian devices will be coming soon.
Channels are easy to find via the company’s integrated electronic programming guide (EPG). Monsoon says that those computers, iPhones and iPad devices can also pause, fast-forward and rewind live content.
Aside from putting your TV lineup on your favorite mobile, the big hook with the Vulkano Flow is that it’s only $99. The Flow comes pre-loaded with software for PC and Mac users, while iPad, iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, tablet and additional smartphone applications will be sold at respective app stores for $12.99 each.
Snag the Vulkano Flow now at Fry’s Electronics, Amazon, TigerDirect and other leading retailers or through Monsoon’s website.
