Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division has updated its HC3800 entry-level 1080p high-definition projector and announced a new warranty policy that better supports this product, which is sold on the Internet.

The revamped limited warranty now includes a 30-day overnight product replacement with a brand new projector for any defects found. Additionally, Mitsubishi is also backing the projector with its Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program. Mitsubishi says the ERA program is a comprehensive national service that was exclusive for its high-end business projectors. As part of the ERA program where available, the company will ship next business-day replacement units for non-working units that are under warranty.

“Mitsubishi is so confident in the quality of our renewed HC3800 projectors, that we’ve developed this new warranty program that we believe is unprecedented in our industry,” boasts James Chan, senior director, product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division.

“If anyone has a technical problem within the first 30 days of purchase, we’ll replace it with a brand new unit.”

Designed to appeal to budget-minded consumers, Mitsubishi’s HC3800 projector uses Texas Instruments’ (TI) latest 1080p DLP chip, the DDP3021 Digital Light Processing TrueVision Image processing with BrilliantColor. The company says the unit is capable of producing up to 1,300 Lumens,  a contrast ratio up to 4,000:1, and a full on/full off contrast ratio of 650:1 ANSI Lumens.

The estimated price of Mitsubishi’s HC3800 is currently $1,500, and it is available through popular online resellers and authorized Mitsubishi dealers. Along with the new 30-day return policy and one-year ERA replacement coverage, Mitsubishi is also offering the HC3800 with a rebate promotion for a free lamp ($395 value) with purchase while supplies last. The new HC3800 warranty and its lamp promotion are for customers with a U.S. shipping and billing address only.
