Missing CBS? Time Warner Cable Has an Antenna for You
The cable provider is comping a few of its customers during the blackout period.

If you’re a Time Warner Cable customer, you may have been missing something for the past few weeks. That something is CBS. Since the duo’s last agreement expired, the network and the cable provider have been trying to work out a new programming deal—without much success. As a result, TWC customers haven’t been able to receive CBS.

The blackout is currently in its third week, which means that customers are missing Under the Dome and pre-season football. Well, maybe. Just because the two sides are fighting doesn’t mean you have to miss out on programming. That’s because TWC is offering free antennas to its customers.

An antenna will allow customers to receive the network via free over-the-air signals. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get a few other new channels as well.

The company emailed customers and also posted a message to its website saying that subscribers could obtain an antenna at local TWC locations in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Los Angeles/Desert Cities, New York City, plus Milwaukee and Green Bay in Wisconsin. TWC is also offering a $20 voucher if you want to pick one up at your local Best Buy.

“All blacked-out broadcast stations remain available over the air, and most households can receive the signals if they have the right equipment,” the message says.

According to Reuters, the company is also offering Amazon gift cards, if customers want to go the streaming route.

The blackout has been going on since August 2. Both sides have yet to budge on the negotiations, but the upcoming NFL season is expected to force some type of resolution regarding the matter.
