Mio’s new “Knight Rider”-branded GPS will get you one step closer to being The Hoff.
That headline is not a drill. That mid-80s dream you had of once owning the “Knight Rider” car is about to become half-true.
Mio Technology will soon release a “Knight Rider”-themed GPS. Perhaps inspired by the recent TV movie or by a love of all things David Hasselhoff, this unit will feature the actual voice of William Daniels (who voiced KITT). Assuming your parents didn’t curse you with a completely bizarre name, you can even program KITT to provide a personal greeting.
There will be no real-time traffic info, but Crave says that the unit will have other features similar to the Mio Moov 310/300.
Aside from the vocals, the unit also has dual LED scanner lights just like the “real” KITT, and it also shows your position on the map via a cartoon version of KITT.
The Knight Rider GPS will be available on August 8 for $269. If you’re interested in that, you might be interested in NBC’s new incarnation of “Knight Rider,” which premieres on September 24.
