Citi Field, the new digs for the New York Mets, will feature more than 800 Sharp AQUOS LCD HDTVs when it opens April 13.
The HDTVs will be spread throughout the stadium’s concourses, restaurants, and clubs. There’s also going to be a 108-inch Sharp LCD in the main lobby.
“Sharp’s provision of the finest HDTVs will enhance our fan experience throughout Citi Field,” says Dave Howard, executive VP of Business Operations for the Mets.
Here’s hoping those HDTVs actually get some use in the playoffs, and the Mets don’t blow the NL East on the final day of the season ... again.
The New York Yankees are also opening up a new stadium that has more than 550 Sony BRAVIA HDTVs. Fans sitting in certain sections will also have PlayStation 3s and VAIO notebook computers at their disposal.
